Despite its name, hay fever has nothing to do with hay or fever. A nineteenth-century physician called it this because he began to sneeze every time he entered a hay barn. But hay fever is, in fact, a reaction of the upper respiratory tract to anything to which you may be allergic. The medical term for hay fever is "allergic rhinitis". Symptoms include itchy, watery eyes, runny, itchy nose, congestion, and sneezing. Hay fever is most common in spring and fall (when ragweed is particularly troublesome), but some people have it all year. You can try to avoid things that give you hay fever. Talk to your doctor if that doesn't help. He or she may prescribe antihistamines, decongestants, and or nasal sprays.

Ambrosia Artemisiaefolia (ragweed) 6X, Aralia Racemosa (spikenard) 6X, Euphrasia Officinalis (eyebright) 6X, Pulsatilla Nigricans (wind flower) 6X, 12X, 30X, Sanguinaria Canadensis (blood root) 6X, Solidago Virgaurea (golden rod) 6X, Allium Cepa (red onion) 8X, Arsenicum Iodatum (arsenious iodide) 8X, Kali Iodatum (potassium iodide) 8X, Sabadilla (cevadilla) 8X, Inactive: Lactose.

Dosage

Adults chew one tablet slightly and allow to dissolve in the mouth every 2 hours until symptoms improve. Take 4 times daily or as needed through the hay fever season. Children 2-12 years of age take one half the adult dosage. For best results: Take in a clean mouth.
