We prepare our Meadowsweet Extract from the leaf & flowering tops of Filipendula ulmaria plants which are Certified Organically Grown on our own farm without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. To assure optimal extraction of Meadowsweet's bioactive compounds, the plants are hand-harvested only while in full flower, are carefully shade-dried and cleaned of superfluous stems, and are then promptly extracted.

Product Benefits

Meadowsweet's high content of aspirin-like compounds (salicylic aldehyde and methyl salicylate) makes it an excellent analgesic and antirheumatic without the side effects of aspirin. It is aromatic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, diuretic (taken with cool water) and diaphoretic (taken with hot water); is also stomachic and a gastric antacid that soothes stomach mucosa and normalizes its secretions.

Meadowsweet Extract is prepared from the leaf & flowering tops of Spirea ulmaria plants which are Certified Organically Grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides. Dry herb/ menstruum ratio: 1:5,
Certified organic grain alcohol(50-55%), distilled water & Meadowsweet extractives.

Dosage


Take 30 to 40 drops, 2 to 5 times per day. For diarrhea take up to 1 teaspoon of extract mixed into a cup of water.

Uses: Minor pains; arthritis, and rheumatic joint and muscle pains; headache; toothache; sprains and tendonitis; and topically for insect stings. Fevers, colds and flu. Acid dyspepsia (“heartburn”), gastritis; eructation and esophageal burning; stomach ulcers. Aromatic astringent for diarrhea (especially with children). Mild urinary antiseptic indicated in irritation, inflammation and infections of the urinary passage; acute catarrhal cystitis; gleet; prostatic enlargement and prostatorrhea; chronic cervicitis and vaginitis with leukorrheal discharge.
