familE protects cardiovascular function by reducing the oxidation of low-density lipoproteins. Squalene is naturally found in the liver and is a building block for hormones. Lutein is a xanthophyll (oxygenated carotenoid) that occurs in nature with zeanthin, a closely related carotenoid. An experimental study indicates that lutein protects vascular health by inhibiting monocyte migration into the arterial cells. Pantethine (Pantesin) is the stable disulfide form of pantothenic acid (Vitamin B5), and it is the physiological coenzyme A precursor in the Krebs cycle. Pantethine supports lipid metabolism by its ability to raise levels of CoA, a cofactor involved inseveral metabolic pathways including carbohydrate and lipid matabolism.. .
